My story

Hi, I’m Jonny, up until a few years ago I struggled massively with yo-yo-ing weight.

I always wanted to be the fittest, the biggest, the fastest, the best at my sport throughout my adolescence until I left school. I have had a passion for training my whole life and have always made it a priority.

After leaving school, and over the course of a few years at university, I (unknowingly at the time) was battling with mental health issues. I say unknowingly as my way of dealing with my issues was to pretend they did not exist, drink myself to oblivion and not take responsibility for my physical and mental health.

A combination of injury, bad decisions and just not having a grasp on how to control my weight all fed into the melting pot. I was fluctuating from being lean and athletic for my sport, to being drunk and overweight.

This had a detrimental effect on my training. I would go through periods of strict regimes that I would inevitably fail at, as they were not sustainable. I would pick it back up again a few months down the line and this haphazard cycle would repeat itself across my time at university.

I made so many training mistakes through this time, lacked consistency, lacked structure, any kind of direction or in-depth understanding of how to achieve the body and the performance levels I wanted to.

My mental health spiralled out of control and culminated in a mental breakdown in 2017. Unable to finish my degree that year I spent months feeling nothing, in a world of pain and with no real understanding of how I could get to the other side or if I even could.

A big turning point for me was when I took the plunge to follow my passion for training and become a PT. I worked at a well-established gym in the North West. I was mentored by the owner for two years in which I was able to practically apply the theory I had learnt during my university studies to real-life clients. Helping hundreds of men and women like yourselves achieve the body and performance levels they never thought they could. This was a truly transformational experience for me and from that point on I have never looked back.

I love what I do. It is my passion; helping people overcome training mistakes, many of which I have made myself and getting them the hard-earned results they deserve! I take a non BS approach to what I do. All my systems are tried, tested and founded upon a sound theoretical understanding of training and nutrition.

I know from my own experience with training and nutrition how much BS is out there and how frustrating it can be navigating the abundance of misinformation.
